According to Taiwan Ranking, Universidade de Lisboa once again ranks 1st among the Portuguese universities. , ULisboa ranked 78th at European level and 193rd worldwide. By scientific area of engineering, where Técnico stands out, the results are even better – 22nd at European level and 115th worldwide.
Among engineering courses we highlight Civil Engineering (ranked 8th in Europe and 29th worldwide), Mechanical Engineering (ranked 15th in Europe, 53rd worldwide), Electrical Engineering (ranked 21st in Europe and 108th worldwide), Information Systems Engineering (28th in Europe, 141st worldwide). Also Mathematics at ULisboa ranks 22nd in Europe and 74th worldwide.
The Taiwan ranking, also known as Performance Ranking of Scientific Papers for World Universities is carried out by the National Taiwan University and aims to analyse scientific research performance at Institutions, using bibliometric methods and the following criteria: productivity, impact and research excellence. The main sources of information on which it is based are Essential Science Indicators (ESI), Web of Science (WoS) and Thomson-Reuters’ Journal Citation Reports (JCR).
According to the results obtained, ULisboa moved up two positions worldwide and one position at European level. This trend has been constant in several world university rankings released this year.
