Técnico professor elected as IEEE Fellow

IEEE Fellow is a distinction reserved for select IEEE members whose extraordinary accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest are deemed fitting of this prestigious grade elevation.

José Bioucas Dias, professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and researcher at IT – Instituto de Telecomunicações, was elected as Fellow of IEEE – Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, considered the world’s largest technical professional organisation.

In 2015, professor José Bioucas Dias was included in the Thomson Reuters ISI Highly Cited Researchers list, which refers to scientific researchers whose publications are most often cited in academic journals, in the field of Engineering.
