Técnico showcases aeronautics and Space projects at Portugal Air Summit 2024

The event takes place from 10 to 12 October, in Ponte de Sor.

Professors, students and researchers from Instituto Superior Técnico will be showcasing their aeronautics and Space projects at the Portugal Air Summit 2024, to be held from 10 and 12 October in Ponte de Sor.

Técnico professors and researchers from the Mechanical Engineering Institute (idMEC) will present several research projects developed over the years in this sector. Students from AeroTéc (Aerospace Engineering Students’ Organisation at Técnico) will also be competing at the EuRoC – European Rocketry Challenge. EuRoC is a European competition that challenges university students to launch their rockets. According to Fernando Lau, a professor at Técnico, ‘The sky is not the limit for Técnico’s Aerospace Engineering students!’.

Rosário Macário, a professor at Técnico and researcher at CERIS – Civil Engineering Research and Innovation for Sustainability will participate in the debate ‘New Lisbon Airport: Multiplier Effect in the Local Economy’, on 10 October, at 2.55 p.m.

The Student Support Unit at Técnico will also attend the event to share information about the training offer and answer questions about day-to-day life at the school.

The Portugal Air Summit is the leading event in Aviation, Aeronautics, Space, and Defence in Portugal. It brings together the most influential organisations, leaders, and personalities in the sector to showcase, discuss, and boost the best that is being done in the country. The 7th edition will focus on the strategic theme ‘Flying 4 Change’, where ‘the fundamental changes in the sector will be discussed, seeking to redefine the role of Portugal, its industry, and services in the global context’, as published on the event’s website.
