The Bioengineering Week at Instituto Superior Técnico (SBE IST) was created in 2014 by Técnico students – Integrated MSc in Biomedical Engineering and Biological Engineering and MSc in Biotechnology and Microbiology – with the support of the Department of Bioengineering (DBE).

Since then, the mission has been to strengthen the relationship between the academic community and the business / scientific community, spreading the work developed in Portugal and abroad, in the most diverse fields of bioengineering.

To accomplish this goal and due to the current pandemic situation, the 6th SBE will take place online from 8th to 12th March 2021. The event aims to bring together students, academics, companies and start-ups, encouraging  the interaction and sharing of knowledge.

The week will include a set of lectures presented by researchers and companies, national and international, in the area of bioengineering, workshops, among other activities.
