IST Distinguished Lecture by Don Norman

On July 7, at 2.30 p.m., the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (DEI), in collaboration with the Research Units INESC-ID and LARSYS, will promote the 8th session of IST Distinguished Lecture Series titled “People-Centered Design – Why it matters?”, given by Professor Don Norman, distinguished professor and pioneer in the area of human-computer interaction who has held several prominent positions in the academic ad business fields, such as Harvard, UCSD, Northwestern, KAIST, Apple and HP.

The lecture by professor Don Norman, who is member of the external review committee of M-ITI’s, a FCT unit integrated in LARSYS / Técnico, will focus on the importance of people-centered development, which is a very current topic in a society increasingly dominated by technology.

Besides being a remarkable speaker and a disseminator of science, Don Norman, was pioneer in diverse fields, such as electrical engineering, computer science, design, psychology and social science.
