The next bike assignment will take place on 24th September, at 10.30 a.m., in the bike workshop, located at Alameda campus – Civil Engineering building’s garage. This event is open to all Técnico community.

The project “U-bike Portugal – Operação Técnico” aims to promote cycling as daily transport mode to Técnico campuses. For this purpose, the project provides a set of classic and electric bikes to the academic community, mainly to students, during one semester, in order to encourage a more sustainable urban transportation.

The bicycle is becoming the most used mean of transport to Técnico campuses. Técnico has strongly supported the use of bicycles, by improving the parking infrastructures. The bike workshop gives assistance to all IST cyclists.

This project is financially supported by Portugal 2020 under the Operational Programme for Sustainability and Efficient Use of Resources (PO SEUR) and promotes a low carbon strategy. This project also contributes to reduce the use of fossil fuels originated by motorised transport, thus fulfilling the national guidelines for sustainable mobility.
