BNP Paribas joined Técnico Partner Network this Monday, 3rd February. A protocol was signed during a ceremony held at IST Alameda campus aiming to deepen relations between the two institutions over the next 3 years.
The IST president, professor Rogério Colaço, and the CEO of BNP Paribas in Portugal, Fabrice Segui, signed the protocol and highlighted its importance.
“Thank you for joining our community. Técnico will provide quality and trust to our new partner. Our Partner Network, which aims to strengthen the link between academia, research centres and companies, will create synergies and bring benefits to both parties. It’s a powerful instrument that will allow us to accomplish this strategic mission”, said professor Rogério Colaço.
Fabrice Segui pointed out the advantages of this partnership and highlighted the excellence of Técnico students: “Your students are a reference in Engineering, Science and Technology areas. They give valuable inputs to any company”. The CEO of BNP Paribas in Portugal, challenged the students to learn more about BNP Paribas Group, “this partnership is the result of a mutual interest, this is a step forward to a very successful relationship that we hope will be fruitful”.
Besides the annual scholarships, the protocol foresees the creation of a merit award, a summer internship programme, as well as events and workshops aimed at students and researchers.
BNP Paribas has been present in Portugal since 1985. It is one of the largest banks in Europe and has about 6,000 employees in the various Group entities established in our country. BNP Paribas Group is also present in Portugal through competency centres, which provide diversified high-value services on behalf of other BNP Paribas locations.
