The award ceremony of the 2022/2023 edition of the Engenheiro Augusto Ramalho Rosa Scholarships took place on March 3, in the Civil Engineering Museum, at Técnico – Alameda Campus. Eight Civil Engineering students had their scholarships renewed, with one new scholarship being awarded.

This year, the scholarship programme in honour of alumnus Augusto Ramalho Rosa, established by his family, awarded the students Edgar Sousa, Margarida Silva, Pedro Carvalho, Ruben Batista, Tomás Mocho, Tomás Oliveira and Vítor Valverde.

According to Tomás Oliveira, these scholarships allow students “to focus on academics”. Vítor Valverde shares the same opinion “they are a great incentive to study” and adds “this scholarship has had a positive impact on my academic performance”.

The ceremony was chaired by professor Alexandre Francisco, Vice-President of Técnico for Academic Affairs, who congratulated the students and wished them “much success at Técnico and after graduating”.

The event was also attended by the patrons Rita Schreck and Berta Marinho, Augusto Ramalho Rosa’s wife. “I am emotionally connected to Técnico by my husband’s stories”.

The 1st cycle students enrolled in the Civil Engineering course are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
