The Venture Builder, a Portuguese incubator based in Rio Maior, organised a technical visit to Técnico Taguspark campus on 31st October. Several Brazilian entrepreneurs had the opportunity to learn more about the main technological and innovative projects developed at Técnico Taguspark campus, before moving on to the Web Summit.
The group was composed of CEOs, CSOs, and Executive Directors of companies with a focus on digital security (NetEye), innovation (Tivit) and health (Anexth), among others.
During the technical visit, the participants were accompanied by Rui Prada, a Member of the IST Taguspark campus Management Committee, Técnico professor (DEI) and INESC-ID researcher. The group visited several laboratories, such as the Laboratory for Robotics and Engineering Systems (LARSYS) at ISR, the Games Laboratory, the GAIPS Lab at INESC-ID, the Stem Cell Laboratory at iBB and the IST NanoSat Lab, where they met the researchers Rodrigo Ventura (ISR), Manuel Guimarães (INESC-ID), Inês Lobo (INESC-ID), Daniel Simões (INESC-ID), Ali Kordia (INESC-ID), Tiago Fernandes (iBB), and João Paulo Monteiro (IST NanoSat Lab).
At the end of the visit, the group of entrepreneurs had the opportunity to meet Helena Galhardas, Vice-President of Técnico for the Management of Taguspark campus, and Carla Patrocínio, coordinator of the Technology Transfer Office at Técnico, who shared information about the history and mission of the campus, and the several Técnico’s collaborations and partnerships.
