A Técnico Career Session took place this Tuesday, October 2, at salão nobre. The vice-president of Técnico for Entrepreneurship and Corporate Relations, professor Luís Caldas de Oliveira, explained the importance of the Career Discovery@Técnico programme to the students who were sharing past experiences and taking notes.

“The Career Discovery@Técnico programme is the school’s response to a changing labour market, it’s a way of helping you to prepare and to face those changes”, stressed professor Luís Caldas de Oliveira who also explained that a successful career depends on acquiring specific skills that “go far beyond the subject you learn”. “You must choose wisely: understand your preferences and skills, imagine the future and set goals”, he said. The recruitment process, the most important skills for a recruiter and the most appreciated competences that are valued by employers when hiring Técnico students, were some of the topics addressed by professor Luís Caldas de Oliveira.

During the session, professor Luís Caldas de Oliveira advised students to take advantage of the opportunities offered by Técnico. “You must show your skills to your recruiter. These skills are a result of everything you learn inside and outside Técnico.
