Professor Francisco Lima is the new president of Statistics Portugal (INE) since January 15.

According to professor Francisco Lima, it is “a challenge and an honour” of being chosen by the Portuguese government to hold this position. The associate Professor at the Department of Engineering and Management and researcher at the Centre for Management Studies of Instituto Superior Técnico succeeds Alda Carvalho at the presidency. From 2005 to 2013 Francisco Lima had already hold a consulting position at Statistics Portugal.
