Sharing and discussing internationalisation strategies

The participants of International Staff Week have the opportunity to discuss the challenges of internationalisation in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.

Strengthening cooperation with other universities, sharing experiences, facilitating networking and discovering new opportunities and strategies of internationalisation, are the goals of the International Staff Week (ISW). After the success of last year’s edition, the ISW takes place this week, from 7th to 11th October, and brings together about 65 professionals from universities worldwide. The participants will have the opportunity to share their knowledge, to broaden partnerships and to develop action plans.

The Vice-president of Técnico for administrative management, professor Jorge Morgado, welcomed the ISW participants and stressed the importance of internationalisation at Técnico. “These events are very important because we learn together, we share ideas and we jointly discover new ways of getting closer to students”, he said. The changes in education, the demands of the new generation and the importance of strategic alignment were also highlighted during the session. Lithuania, Slovenia, the Netherlands, Sweden, Poland and Germany are some of the participating countries.

Internationalisation strategies, the impact of joint programmes and, of course, recruitment strategies are some of the topics that will be approached in different ways throughout the week. One of the highlights of this week is the International Day, which will take place on October 9th at Taguspark campus and on October 10th at Alameda campus. This event will allow Técnico students to learn more about the several mobility programmes.
