Técnico will have an exhibition stand at each of the six venues of the Master’s Fair 2024, organised by the Future association, starting on February 1, in the city of Porto. Técnico will showcase its master’s programmes at the fair with the support of several students who will share their experience of studying at the country’s largest engineering school. Until mid-March, the Master’s Fair will also take place in Aveiro, Lisbon, Algarve, Covilhã and Braga.
Here are the dates, cities and venues that have already been confirmed:
- February 1 – Porto (10 a.m.-7 p.m.), Hard Club Porto;
- February 15 – Aveiro (1 p.m.-10 p.m.), University of Aveiro;

Tomás Salgado is one of the Técnico students who will be at the Master’s Fair to answer visitors’ questions. The Aerospace Engineering Master’s student believes that this type of event helps students to “make informed decisions about their education and future careers”, as they can “talk to course representatives” and get important information. Alice Correia, a Biomedical Engineering Master’s student, adds that events like the Master’s Fair are pivotal to “get to know the different courses and scientific areas” at several higher education institutions.
Both students have a lot to share about what is like to study at Técnico. Alice says she had “a very ‘rich’ experience” as her course allowed her to “explore many different areas, have various extracurricular experiences and apply knowledge in practical projects”. In her opinion, representing Técnico at the Masters Fair “is an opportunity to ‘demystify’ ideas about the school and showcase all the opportunities” available to Técnico students, which she considers “an asset for their professional future”. Tomás, in turn, wants to share with visitors the way Técnico has tackled the three topics that, in his opinion, “are essential in preparing a student for the world of work – constant exposure to the job market, demanding technical skills training and the importance given to transversal skills”.
Tomás and Alice are two of the students you can meet at the various fairs, representing Técnico. They are part of the Student Support Unit (NAPE), which contributes to publicising the school’s teaching offer, and helps students with their integration and academic career – from the Welcome Week to the Graduation Day.
