Técnico community celebrates 50 years of April 25th with concerts, movie nights, exhibitions and debates

The 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution is being marked with various cultural events, open to the public, organised by the Técnico community.

It was 1973 when one of the rooms at Instituto Superior Técnico hosted a performance by political singers that brought together musician José ‘Zeca’ Afonso, writer José Jorge Letria and Galician singer Benedito. The political mobilisation of Técnico students was clearly visible there, with hundreds of students in the audience.

Fifty years after April 25th, 1974 – and in line with the values shared by all those involved in that concert – the Técnico community is organising a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution.
