Unbabel, a spin-off from Técnico that was founded in 2013 by Vasco Pedro and João Graça, raised $23 million in a series B round of funding from Scale Venture Partners, Notion, Microsoft Ventures, Salesforce Ventures, Samsung Next, Caixa Capital and Funders Club.
Big-name companies are using Unbabel, such as Oculus, EasyJet, Booking.com, Evernote, BuzzFeed, SoundCloud, Trello, Vimeo and Pinterest.
According to newspaper “Público”, Nick Nigam, Director of Samsung NEXT, said that “Unbabel enables communication without borders in a professional and accessible way”.
In September, Wired magazine considered Unbabel one of Europe’s 100 hottest Startups for the second consecutive year.
