Worten and Técnico+ team up for specialised training

The Specialisation Course “Logística 5.0” (Logistics 5.0) started on 4th May. It has been especially designed for Worten, a company that invests a lot in employee training and development.

This course presents the concept of Logistics 5.0, and aims to explore three dimensions based on the human factor, resilience and sustainability, for the supply chain and the logistics operations. The course provides its trainees with the ability to implement Logistics 5.0 in their organisations.

“The benefits of digital transformation in logistics are huge, as they will have a positive impact on many organisations and will generate a competitive advantage for companies. Therefore, updating employee skills with regard to Logistics 5.0 is increasingly relevant”, explains the Executive Director of Técnico+, Tiago Guerra. “Our goal is to provide the best technical knowledge to Worten employees, allowing a greater perception of the reality, the future trends and the challenges associated with the logistics area, so that the company maintains high quality services”, he adds.

“The development and updating of our employees’ skills, aligned with the evolution and trends of the market, is a strategic goal of our company. We give our employees access to Worten Academy, with the motto “Unlock Your Power”, because we believe that continuous learning, knowledge sharing and proactivity are relevant factors for the development of our business”, says Inês de Castro, Head of People at Worten Portugal. “This course stands out for the relevance of the topics addressed and for being an integrated learning experience, reconciling content with a strategic and evolutionary vision of Logistics in organisations”, she adds.

“Worten has long made strategic investments in the Supply Chain, in order to better and faster meet customer demands. Knowing how to use Logistics 5.0 to its full potential is extremely important for most companies, including Worten, and therefore investing in the development and deepening of knowledge in this area makes perfect sense”, said Pedro Chainho, Head of Supply Chain at Worten. “To achieve this goal and to keep up with market trends, Worten considers that it’s crucial to strengthen the business-academia link”, he adds.

“I believe that, in addition to achieving academic and professional objectives, the team spirit will be strengthened”, shares Hugo Alexandre, Supply Chain Engineering Area Manager at Worten. Hugo Alexandre also stressed “these Worten employees are the first ones to have the opportunity to attend this course, in this format. I hope that they take full advantage of it. The course was designed with great enthusiasm and dedication, thinking of everyone involved.”

Sónia Duarte, Transport Coordinator at Worten Portugal and current trainee, highlights “I hope this course will help me succeed professionally and provide me with tools that allow for greater efficiency and greater results. In this way, we will be able to provide new and updated customer services, which will allow Worten to be at the forefront and gain a competitive advantage. We cannot keep up with customer expectations and market trends without continuous training”.

Inês Castanheira, Transport Strategy & Development Coordinator at Worten Portugal, and also current trainee, hopes that the course will help her “to understand the market trends and the effective logistics solutions that will enable companies to develop successful strategies in today’s dynamic and unpredictable world”.

Técnico+ is the first advanced training school in the areas of technology and engineering in Portugal. Worten is Sonae’s electronics retail company and a leading company in this area, focused on bringing the best of technology to everyone.
