Worten is the 18th company that joins Técnico Partner Network

The protocol was signed last Friday, December17.

The Técnico Partner Network continues to grow. Worten joined the partner network last Friday, December 17. The ceremony took place in a hybrid format. This partnership will result in several joint initiatives, namely the company’s support to the Logistics Laboratory that is already being created at Técnico – Taguspark campus.

The president of Técnico, professor Rogério Colaço emphasized the importance of Worten in Técnico Partner Network. “This partnership, centered in industrial management and logistics, opens a new door to Técnico as it had not yet been explored”.

Dr. Pedro Chainho, Head of Supply Chain at Worten, shared the same enthusiasm and highlighted the importance of this partnership to the company’s strategy. “Worten has been betting on supply chain issues for a long time, which turned out to be a very relevant issue at this moment, with the growth of e-commerce. It was very important for the company’s stability, and for the reinforcement of Worten as a market leader, not only online but also offline”.

In order to achieve this goal, but also “to keep up with the trends and developments of this area and to effectively respond to market changes” and to evolve and grow as an organisation, Worten considers that creating this partnership is crucial. “For this reason, we thought it was time to strengthen this partnership with Técnico and to expand it so that, together, we can better respond to the challenges ahead”, stressed Dr Pedro Chainho.

The ceremony was also attended by the Vice president for Operations and Corporate Relationships, professor Pedro Amaral, and the Head of the Department of Engineering and Management (DEG), professor Ana Póvoa. The ceremony was attended remotely by the DEG professors and CEG/IST researchers, Susana Relvas and Tânia Ramos, who have been playing a key role in the consolidation and strengthening of this partnership, and by two Técnico alumni who are now working at Worten, engineers Hugo Alexandre and Afonso Barroso.
