Applications for public higher education (1^st call) will run until 6 August.

The Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa is providing 1,697 openings across its 19 degree programmes. This includes 30 spots specifically for Portuguese students in the new Undergraduate Programme in General Engineering. The programme aims to enhance its offerings with flexible tracks, an interdisciplinary focus, and instruction entirely in English.

The application process takes place on the Directorate General for Higher Education (DGES) website. Authentication using a citizen ID card or the Digital Mobile Key (CMD) is required.

The results of the 1st call will be published on 23 August. Enrolment and registration will take place between 24 and 27 August. Técnico will welcome new students at the Welcome Week, from 1 to 4 September.

In the case of placement at Instituto Superior Técnico, the CMD – which can be requested at Autenticação.Gov – will also be required for new students to enrol. The activation of the CMD may take a few weeks, so the request must be made in due time, before the publication of the CNAES results.

The National Call for Public Higher Education is the most common way of accessing an undergraduate programme or master’s programme. Alternatively, there is also special admission for applicants over the age of 23, holders of middle level and higher education, and change of course/institution, with specific application deadlines.
