The 1st National Call for Public Higher Education (CNAES) starts this Monday, 22 July, and will run until 5 August.
The application process takes place online on the Directorate General for Higher Education (DGES) website. Candidates can authenticate with their citizen’s card or the Digital Mobile Key (CMD).
In the next academic year (2024/2025), higher education in Portugal will offer 55,166 places at public universities and polytechnics, an increase of 158 places (0.29 percent) compared to the previous year. Of these, 1,667 places will be available at Técnico.
The National Call for Public Higher Education is the most common way of accessing an undergraduate programme, but there is also special admission for applicants over the age of 23, holders of middle level and higher education course, and change of course/institutions, with specific application deadlines.
In the case of placement at Instituto Superior Técnico, the CMD – which can be requested at Autenticação.Gov – will also be required for new students to enrol. The activation of the CMD may take a few weeks, so the request must be made in due time, before the publication of the CNAES results.
The results of the 1st call of the CNAES will be published on 25 August. Enrolment and registration will take place between 26 and 29 August. Técnico will welcome new students at the Welcome Week, from 2 to 6 September.
