Universidade de Lisboa (ULisboa) is pleased to announce a call for the first ten Portugal-Brazil PhD fellowships under the partnership protocol with PRISC – Portuguese Research Infrastructure of Scientific Collections, which brings together ULisboa, the University of Porto and the University of Coimbra through their museums and botanical gardens, in collaboration with the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, through its National Museum, and the FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia.
Applications are open for the first ten fellowships until 16th June 2023.
The research work will be developed, in part, at the National Museum in Rio de Janeiro, destroyed by a fire in September 2018.
The scientific areas are:
- Museology, namely in the fields of intersection between art and science, in particular the development of innovative forms of exhibition, education and science communication (up to two fellowships).
- Geodiversity, palaeodiversity and biodiversity, namely regarding the history of the Earth and its past and present biodiversity, focusing on the valorisation of collections and associated scientific data (up to four fellowships).
- Studies of Scientific Collections from multiple perspectives (historical, taxonomic, anthropological, archaeological, sociological, dissemination, conservation perspectives, etc.) (up to four fellowships).
