Catarina Botelho, a PhD student in Electrical and Computer Engineering, won the 1st edition of the “3-Minute Thesis” competition, for “Fala” project, a vocal biomarker for disease detection, developed at the Instituto de Engenharia de Sistemas e Computadores: Investigação e Desenvolvimento em Lisboa (INESC ID).
Matteu Pisanno is pursuing a PhD student in Physics at the Laboratory of Instrumentation and Experimental Particle Physics (LIP), and won 3rd place for a presentation about his project that aims to better understand the beginning of the Universe. The final competition took place yesterday, May 30th, at the National Museum of Natural History and Science of Universidade de Lisboa (ULisboa).
Twelve of the 150 initial candidates reached the final. Five Técnico students competed in the finals.
