The new students are getting to know Técnico, but they feel they already know very well everything the school has to offer them. Técnico’s good reputation, the excellence in teaching, the international prestige, the high employability of Técnico graduates and the several Técnico partnerships are some of the reasons why these students chose Técnico.
Inês Mesquita entered her first choice course, Applied Mathematics and Computation (BSc) with a 19.4 admission average. She was forced to change her plans to study abroad due to the pandemic. “I had to rethink my plans and stay in Portugal, so Técnico became an obvious choice”, she says. Although some of her friends recommended the school, the quality of the course and everything she can learn from it had a significant influence on her decision.
José Ferreira, who also entered Applied Mathematics and Computation (BSc), valued the fact that “the course involves a combination of applied and practical Mathematics”. He always liked mathematics and always imagined himself working in this area. He was looking for a course and a school that could offer him different professional opportunities, “which is exactly what Técnico offers its students”.
Ema Martins (18.95 admission average) came from Viseu to study Biomedical Engineering. “I wanted a course that combined medicine and engineering and I wanted to study at Técnico”, she says. We asked her why. “Because it is the best engineering school and because it has a lot to offer its students, namely the partnerships and the strong link with companies, and that captivated me a lot”, she answered without hesitation. “I believe that there will be excellent future opportunities at Técnico”, she adds. Although Aerospace Engineering was João Matos’ first choice course he is happy to have entered Biomedical Engineering. “I did a lot of research and the employability of Técnico graduates is excellent”, he stresses.
This Tuesday, several students (Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Physics, Biomedical Engineering, and Applied Mathematics and Computation) visited Alameda campus, met their colleagues and started to learn more about the school.
