This Monday, October 30, took place the CGD award ceremony within CA2ECTécnico that aims to reward the excellence and merit of the works carried out by student groups at Técnico.
According to the president of Técnico, professor Arlindo Oliveira, this award “stimulates the activities of excellence carried out at Técnico”, and “it’s a very important way of supporting the projects developed by students”.
Dr. José João Guilherme, member of the Executive Board at CGD, noted that “Técnico has been making successive improvements”, regarding the several partnerships established between CGD and Técnico, namely in what concerns the recruitment process: “CGD will be always available to support such ideas”.
Nuno Guerreiro, the student vice-president of Pedagogic Council, noted that “there is no parallel in terms of student groups [in Portuguese universities]”.
The winning groups were Formula Student: a project involving the design of an electric race car; TLMoto: a project involving an electric race motorcycle; NEMat: project “Explora Materiais” aiming to disseminate science; MecanIST: project “Fórum Mecânica” also aiming to disseminate science; Hacker School and Biological Engineering student group: “Bioengineering week”, an event that also aims to disseminate science.
