Santander Universities Awards for Student Groups

"These activities will help you to improve your skills, and that’s what makes the world go round.”

The Santander Universities Awards ceremony for Student Groups took place this Tuesday, within CA2ECTécnico – Extracurricular Activities Competition for Student Groups at Instituto Superior Técnico, 2016/17 edition.

Professor Luís Caldas de Oliveira, vice-president of Técnico for Entrepreneurship and Corporate Relations, noted that these awards should be made on an annual basis, benefitting student projects. “We want you to apply again next year, with even more interesting projects.”

Professor Arlindo Oliveira, president of Técnico, also attended the event and took the opportunity to thank Santander for the support granted. “This award allows to support directly students’ activities – and, as I have said several times, Técnico’ s students and the work of student groups are the great strength of this school.”

According to engineer Marcos Ribeiro, director of Santander Universities programme, this award helps students to succeed. “We believe that, besides the capital, also intellectual capital, namely the one we find at Técnico, contributes to the development of societies”. “These activities will help you to improve your skills, and that’s what makes the world go round. We want to closely follow your academic work.”

Nuno Miguel Guerreiro, student member of Pedagogical Council, pointed out that “these incentives stimulate the work of student groups, and that make a difference in students’ life”. “Congratulations to all participants.”
