The 2022/2023 edition of the Bondalti and Amélia de Mello Foundation Scholarships Award Ceremony took place at the Civil Engineering Museum, Alameda Campus, on June 6. Five scholarships were renewed and four scholarships were awarded in this year’s edition.
This year, the scholarship programme set up by Bondalti and the Amélia de Mello Foundation awarded the students Tiago Ferreira (Mechanical Engineering), José Coelho (Aerospace Engineering), Nuno Fernandes (Electrical and Computer Engineering), João Mestre (Computer Science and Engineering), Lucília Catumbela (Chemical Engineering), Bernardo Prata (Computer Science and Engineering), André Lopes (Aerospace Engineering), João Marques (Mechanical Engineering) and Gabriela Barros (Applied Mathematics and Computation).
The scholarship is “an opportunity in academic and professional terms”, said Tiago Ferreira, which allows students to focus on their “personal and academic development”, stressed José Coelho. All students awarded thanked the patrons for “investing in education”. Lucília Catumbela, who is about to move to Sweden to pursue a master’s degree, shared her experience and stressed “this scholarship was a motivation for me to aspire to be whatever I want”.
The ceremony was chaired by the Vice President of Técnico for Academic Affairs, Alexandre Francisco, who congratulated the winners “I hope everything goes well at Técnico and at professional level”.
The Técnico students enrolled in the 1st or 2nd cycle who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for this scholarship.
