PSEM – Project for Mobile Energy Sustainability developed by a student group at Técnico, competed last weekend at Greenpower Corporate Challenge, in Rockingham, UK and won the Siemens Engineering and Design Award.

The vehicle developed for this challenge is an emission-free electric prototype. This challenge involved the participation of Jaguar-Land Rover, Renishaw and Lockheed Martin. The Siemens Engineering and Design Award distinguishes the best engineering project and this is the second consecutive year that PSEM receives this award, due to its technological innovations and team perfectionism.

This prototype was built by Técnico students using advanced techniques and materials. Sophisticated electronics allow the team to know, in real time, the energy consumption, the amount of charge available in the battery, among other features. The vehicle was designed using Siemens PLM software.
