The Technology Transfer Office at Técnico organised 3 Técnico Career Sessions. The last Técnico Career Session took place this Thursday, October 3rd.

The Vice-president for Entrepreneurship and Corporate Relations, professor Luís Caldas de Oliveira, explained the importance of Career Discovery @ Técnico programme: “Técnico created this programme because besides giving you a high quality training, we need to prepare you for the challenges of the job market and recruitment process”. “It’s very important that you begin to prepare your career during your master’s degree”, advised professor Luís Caldas de Oliveira. “You need to visit industries and companies, and you need to meet people. This is very important for making the right decision about your future”, he said. Establishing business contacts, defining future goals, knowing when companies will start recruiting and being aware of the top skills and attributes employers look for, were some topics approached during the session.

“Recruitment processes are far from perfect. There is difficulty in validating skills, each company has its own calendar and recruitment model”, said professor Luís Caldas de Oliveira, who also presented the several activities of Career Discovery @ Técnico programme. New additions for this year are the Técnico Alumni Mentoring Programme and Técnico Career Coaching.
