The impact of TecInnov in the promotion of value creation

The Technology Transfer Office organised a session where ideas, questions and results were shared.

The Technology Transfer Office organised this Tuesday, February 20, a session dedicated to the past editions of TecInnov – Support the Development of Innovative Ideas at Técnico, aiming to define goals and attract more participants.

“We are here today to show results, to motivate future candidates and to help them adjusting their ideas to this programme’ s goals”, said the Vice-president of Técnico for Entrepreneurship and Corporate Relations, professor Luís Caldas de Oliveira. A representative of Thales, a company that is part of Técnico partner network and supports TecInnov, also attended the session: “You may not know this, but Thales is considered one of the most innovative companies in the world that invests heavily in research, which is why we are here today, because we believe in you and in your ideas”, stressed Thales representative, Tiago Fonseca.

The winners of TecInnov 1st edition also attended the session and shared the results of the programme. AAL4Life (Ambient Assisted Living Integrated Solution) and WalkBot (Automated survey of accessibility data pedestrian) representatives presented the various steps they have taken and the importance of TecInnov in the development of the initial idea.

Beatriz Lopez and Mário Vieira, members of AAL4Life – a platform that combines cognitive stimulation with the health parameters of its users – highlighted the importance of their project “in the quality of life of elderly people” . “After TecInnov’s funding, we were able to develop our project and, although it has come to an end, we realised that we want to strengthen our idea so that we can reach our target market”, said Mário Vieira.

The audience didn’t stop raising questions and suggesting ideas for the following stages of the projects. Some participants took the opportunity to be inspired by the examples of success stories and aligned strategies for the next edition.
